In Management Essentials IV, you will build on the topics and lessons learned in Management Essentials III, with additional instruction on how to engage in productive feedback conversations. You will learn about the different types of feedback and when to use each one, as well as practice how to give feedback effectively in order to improve employee and team performance.

Module 1: Employee Motivation

Learn about Self-Determination Theory and the factors that contribute to employees’ motivation in the workplace, and explore how you can ensure these factors are present among your team to enhance overall performance.

Module 2: The 3Cs of High-Trust Teams

Explore what it means to share deep interpersonal trust with another person, and understand how you can foster a work environment that enables deeper trust-building within your team and organization.

Module 3: Psychological Safety in the Workplace

Understand the importance of fostering a psychologically safe work environment and explore the conditions that you can create to enhance the level of psychological safety among your team.


Module 4: Understanding and Adapting Your Communication Style

Identify your core values using the BANK Codes Communication Assessment tool and understand how they impact your communication style and preferences. Then, explore how you can adapt your communication style to more effectively communicate with others in your professional and personal life.


Module 5: Introduction to O.A.R.S. Coaching Skills

Learn about the O.A.R.S coaching model (Open Questions, Affirmations, Reflections and Summaries) and understand how and when to use each skill effectively to support your staff and colleagues.

Module 6: Micro-Coaching: Applying Your Skills

Put your coaching skills to work! Apply what you have learned in Lesson 5 and practice using open questions, affirmations, reflections and summaries through an interactive micro-coaching exercise.


Module 7: Giving and Receiving Feedback

Explore the types of feedback that can be used in difference workplace contexts and understand when to use each one in order to provide relevant, useful feedback that inspires action.

Module 8: Handling Difficult Conversations

Learn the most effective ways to plan for and navigate difficult conversations in the workplace to ensure all parties feel seen, heard and respected.
